1 Hotel Mayfair evokes an immediate sense of calm from the moment you step through its impressive entrance doors.
The lobby is defined by a striking suspended chandelier, handcrafted from 50,000 strands of real moss that cascade down to frame the space below. Sustainability sits at the heart of the hotel and is woven throughout the interiors, with 1,300 individual plants, living walls integrated into the staircase stonework, moss-lined lift ceilings and moss features within each guestroom.
A restrained palette of natural timbers, tactile stone and neutral finishes creates a serene sense of escapism throughout. The reception desk is hewn from the trunk of a giant oak, carefully sourced from a Sussex forest and set against a wall of Yorkshire stone, reinforcing the hotel’s connection to nature and British craftsmanship.
The hotel itself was created through the transformation and unification of two existing buildings.
